Free Money to Pay Your Insulation Bills

Storm windows, insulation and even weather-stripping can help reduce your heating and cooling bills… but these can be pricey additions. Luckily, the U.S. Department of Energy has the “Weatherization Assistance Program,” which offers up to $2,500 to cover insulation costs.

Many people are eligible for this program, whether you are a renter or homeowner, live in single-family home or a mobile home. Income eligibility requirements vary state to state, and preference is given to the elderly and those families with children.
